Written in 2018 and completed in 2021, serving as the explosive and joyful answer to its predecessor, the Relentless (album), Redeemed (album) stands as its direct sequel. While the first album traced God’s tireless pursuit of His people through the shadows, laws, and longing of the Old Testament, this follow-up shifts the focus from the chase to the rescue. It offers a modern pop exploration of the New Testament told specifically through a reformed Christian lens. By distilling all twenty-seven books of the New Testament into a vibrant, high-energy narrative, the project takes listeners on a sweeping journey that moves from the dusty roads of Galilee to the very throne room of Heaven.

The narrative trajectory of the album unfolds across several distinct movements that capture the core of the New Testament experience. It begins with the arrival of the Gospels, introducing a King who stepped off His throne to serve as the Mediator—the only one capable of bridging the gap between a holy God and a broken world. The story then transitions into a global movement in the book of Acts, where the fire and flame of the Holy Spirit builds a thriving Church under God’s sovereign hand. From there, the album dives deep into the theological, heavy-hitting truths of the Epistles, unpacking the anatomy of grace to show that believers are justified by faith alone and chosen by an eternal love. This builds toward a cinematic anthem of final victory inspired by Revelation, reminding listeners that the Lamb has already won and will return to make all things new. Ultimately, the project closes with a personal manifesto that defines the Presbyterian heart, reflecting on the reality that humanity is more sinful than they ever imagined, yet more loved than they ever hoped.

At its core, the main message of the album is that the work of salvation is completely finished. Rather than urging listeners to try harder or do better, the songs serve as a pure celebration of sovereign grace. It brings the overarching biblical narrative full circle by demonstrating how the God who was relentless in the Old Testament has finally and beautifully brought His people back in the New Testament. The project emphasizes that believers are not merely found, but are actively purchased, protected, and promised an eternal future, proving that while Relentless was the promise, Redeemed is the prize.

Redeemed was supposed to be a 5-track album. However, when Angelique was completing the project in 2020 and 2021, the urge to add two bonus tracks came to her. She felt strongly that “His Oath to Stay” and “Unwavering” were needed to encapsulate the message brought on by the Relentless and Redeemed album series. Compelled by her own trials and tribulations from the past year and the healing she was actively going through, “His Oath to Stay” and “Unwavering” were penned and born.

Fun fact: Angelique wrote “Lens of Love” in 2019 after her adult baptism at Transformation Church, which coincidentally took place on her birthday. She remembered the freeing feeling of publicly acknowledging Jesus as her Lord and Savior and embracing her Christian faith while surrounded by the wonderful community she found at TC and its TC Kids’ ministry team, where she met co-servant leaders, Ami, Meghan, and Landon.
