About this EP
Christian pop artist Angelique is challenging the digital status quo with her bold 2-track EP, Off the Algorithm. In a modern world increasingly dominated by curated feeds and algorithmic validation, this EP serves as a powerful, counter-cultural anthem. By seamlessly blending a fresh, modern pop sound with deep spiritual conviction, Angelique inspires her listeners to stop conforming to fleeting digital trends and start reclaiming their God-given individuality.
A Tale of Two Eras
The EP is a unique single-turned-project that showcases Angelique’s personal and spiritual evolution over nearly a decade. The two tracks represent the same core concept, written from two distinct phases of her life:
The 2012 Original: Angelique initially penned the song as a standalone single meant to critique the rapid rise of social media. Even then, she observed how internet culture was curating an entire generation into carbon copies of one another, causing people to slowly lose their unique quirks and individualities in exchange for digital approval.
The 2019 Rewrite: Seven years later, reaching a pivotal peak in her Christian faith, Angelique felt spiritually led to revisit the track. Instead of merely critiquing the culture, the new version evolved into a deeply uplifting call to action. Rooted in the biblical truth that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made,” the rewritten track shifted the focus toward celebrating divine purpose over digital conformity.
Breaking the Mold
By releasing both versions together as a 2-track EP, listeners are invited to experience Angelique’s journey firsthand—moving from a sharp, observant cultural critique to a triumphant, faith-filled declaration. Off the Algorithm (EP) is ultimately more than just a catchy pop release; it is an uplifting reminder to unplug from the pressure of the screen, live authentically, and break free from the molds of the modern algorithm.
